My journey here wasn’t exactly traditional, but that’s what makes me, well, me. I was born in the UK and grew up in Scotland and England before joining the military in 2016. After serving for two years, I realized my heart craved adventure, connection, and creativity. So, I did what any wanderlust-filled 20-something would do—I packed my bags and traveled. From Turkey to Thailand, Serbia to Greece, I immersed myself in different cultures, met incredible people, and gained a deep appreciation for the beauty of human connection.
Eventually, I found my way to university, where I studied marketing, events, and tourism management—learning everything from branding and promotion to event planning and hospitality. That education gave me the tools to create seamless, stunning experiences, but it was my personal journey that shaped how I approach wedding planning today.
During university, I met my now-husband, Franco, an international student from the U.S. (yes, I love an international love story!). As we planned our future together, I also found a deep passion for advocacy. I volunteered as a victim advocate for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking, eventually pursuing a master’s degree in criminal justice. For years, I worked professionally as an advocate, supporting people through some of the hardest moments of their lives. And while I loved helping others, I felt like I had lost my creative spark. I needed to find a way to blend my passion for people with my love for creating beautiful, meaningful moments.
Enter: wedding planning.
I took everything I knew, my ability to connect with people, my talent for staying cool under pressure, my eye for aesthetics, and my heart for creating joy, and turned it into Scotto Soirees. Now, I get to be the calm in your storm, the problem-solver for any hiccup, and your ultimate planning bestie.
